“Where we come from, family takes care of family. And our clients are like family.”
A Calling That Hits Close to Home
When Chuck and Diane began looking for their next calling in life, ComForCare quickly rose to the top. For starters, Chuck had recently gone through the process of finding in-home care for his parents, so this work struck a personal cord.
“ComForCare stuck out on a personal level,” Chuck said. “Seeing things from my parent’s point of view really hit home for me.”
For Diane, her call to help others began years ago through a serendipitous meeting with an older couple who quickly became like family to her. When the couple’s children moved away, Diane stepped in to provide care and guidance.
“I really feel like I was used as an instrument in their lives to honor who they were as people,” Diane reflects. “They were my family away from family and I was honored to be able to make an impact in their lives when they needed it most.”
Caring for Others: Music to Our Ears
“I’m really looking forward to bringing the Joyful Memories program to life for our clients,” Chuck says. “Music is one of those things that helps trigger good memories. I think that’s a really special gift to be able to give our clients.”
“Especially our patients with dementia because music is so powerful for them,” Diane adds. “They remember the songs and it calms them while also stimulating their brains in a way that isn’t overwhelming.”
The Heart of the Matter
Chuck and Diane are experts you can rely on, but it’s so much more than that. “It’s about making a personal connection,” Diane says. “Where we come from, family takes care of family. And our clients are like family.”
Chuck and Diane know that caring for others takes heart, reliability and commitment. That’s why those three qualities must be present in every team member they choose to join their team.
“Our team really cares for our clients and will be there for them. Because that really makes the whole process of care.”
